T H E M A N G A C H A P T E R

There are some differences between the anime episode and the manga chapter its based upon. Episode 10 is based upon chapter 12 (volume 3), chapter 13 (volume 4) and a bonus chapter featured in volume 3. Below are some of the differences between both versions, they don't really affect the plot but they're interesting little things to see.

Antoinette (Tamaki's dog) is the one who wakes him up from his nightmare and follows him when he runs up and down the stairs. She also attacks him (kisses him uncontrollably) while he comes down the first time. It is also her first appearance.
Everyone is wearing winter/fall clothing. In the anime, they are wearing summer like clothing such as sandals, short sleeves. In the manga they all wear coats.
When the twins ask for slippers, Haruhi does go look for them and turns up with different kinds of shoes because she didn't have enough. But they only wear them for a few steps because then they see the tatami mats.
Honey goes to the bathroom, but then runs out of it scared because the bathroom is so small.
Tamaki simply slips, there's no banana peel in the manga.
When Ranka throws Tamaki against the wall, he asks for tea and then to take a nap which makes Tamaki ask Haruhi which is her dad's futon and then he steps on Tamaki.
When Ranka mentions the whole thing about Tamaki mistaking Haruhi for a boy and hitting her on the head, Tamaki runs out and Haruhi finds him crying (with tears and all) trying to hide behind a pole. A couple of girls see them and think they're a couple who is arguing. They think Haruhi made him cry. Tamaki goes with Haruhi to the store and the others follow behind in secret.
Haruhi holds on to Tamaki who is in awe with everything thats going on in the store. Tamaki feels pressured into buying the day's specials as the people in the store announce them and tell people they must buy them. He wants to respect the people who are selling. Haruhi discovers that Tamaki is weak when it comes to home shopping. Shima always tells him he can't buy that stuff. lol
Haruhi keeps holding on to Tamaki until the twins come in and separate them when they hear the sample lady say they were a cute couple. Thats when they realize they followed them.
When Tamaki attempts to try a sample, The Ootori bodyguards insist on tasting them first in case they are poisoned.
During the flashback when Haruhi shops as a child, 2 kids make fun of her because of her dad and Haruhi explains in a calm manner that she's used to his ways and besides its his preference. The kids run away.
Ranka doesn't kick Tamaki, after he tells him there's no way he could understand, Tamaki mopes in a corner and Haruhi yells at him because people are watching.
As everyone is having their meal, Ranka decides to torture Tamaki in order to chase him away and then starts giving him all those leaves.
